ABOUT ME
My name is Ellie Shaw and I'm an aspiring theatre designer and overall theatre enthusiast! ​I am currently a third year student studying theatre design at Nottingham Trent University and I'm loving every minute of it! Coming from a performing background myself, I have always admired all aspects of the theatre. Therefore, by combining my creativity and passion for the arts I feel as if I have found my perfect career!
During my second year I was fortunate enough to complete a placement in the stage management department for Nottingham Playhouse. Following this, I worked alongside the scenic construction team for Rocket Scenery. Since then, I have had a designer role for a schools touring production of 'Merchant of Venice', a co-production between Nottingham Playhouse and Lakeside Arts Centre. These experiences have further developed my passion for all aspects of theatre!

At the moment, I am enjoying designing both set and costume however I am also interested in other potential careers in theatre, such as scenic construction. This course has enabled me to develop skills which allow me to become a more well rounded designer. This includes digital skills such as Photoshop, AutoCad and Sketchup as well as practical skills such as model making, puppetry, lighting, projection, costume design and making, scenic art and set construction.
